finds SMS Programs
finds runs two SMS programs. Each one has its own opt-in, and an opt-in to one program is not an opt-in to the other.
1. finds SMS Verification Program
Program type: One-time passcode (OTP) phone verification
Sender: finds, a product of Saturday
Website: https://finds.nyc
This program sends a one-time passcode that verifies a user's phone number when the user signs in or adds a number to their finds account. This program does not send marketing or promotional SMS.
How a user opts in
- The user opens the finds app for iOS.
- During sign-in or account setup, the app shows the screen "Add your number".
- The user types their own phone number into the phone number field.
- Below the button, the screen shows this disclosure: "We'll text you a one-time code. Msg & data rates may apply."
- The user taps the button labeled "text me a code". This tap is the consent action. There is no pre-checked box; the user must actively request the message.
- finds sends one SMS that contains a one-time passcode. Example: "Your finds verification code is: 123456"
- The user types the code into the app to complete verification.
The user can decline. The screen includes a "Skip for now" option, and consent to receive SMS is not a condition of any purchase.
Message details
- Message frequency: one message per verification request. Message frequency varies with how often the user requests a code.
- Fees: message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out: reply STOP to cancel. Reply HELP for help.
- Privacy: no mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
2. finds Fall Vote Results Alert
Program type: One-time results alert for the Trader Joe's fall vote
Sender: finds, a product of Saturday
Website: https://traderjoesfinds.com/r/fall
This program sends one text message that tells a voter the final ranking of the fall vote is available. The message can include a link to the results and to the finds app.
How a voter opts in
- The voter opens https://traderjoesfinds.com/r/fall and submits a ballot. No account is necessary.
- The results page shows the box "Get pinged when the final ranking drops" with one phone number field. The field is empty. The voter types their own US phone number.
- Below the button, the page shows this disclosure: "Just one text when the winner drops. No spam, pinky promise"
- The voter taps the button labeled "Text me the results". This tap is the consent action. There is no pre-checked box.
- finds records the phone number and the time of consent with the ballot.
The phone number is optional. A voter can vote, see the results, and share a ballot without it.
Message details
- Message frequency: 1 message for each fall vote. Example: "finds: the Trader Joe's fall vote results are in. See the final ranking: https://traderjoesfinds.com/r/fall Reply STOP to cancel."
- Fees: message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out: reply STOP to cancel. Reply HELP for help, or write to [email protected].
