Yes. finds is a free iOS app for ranking Trader Joe's products and sharing grocery recommendations with friends. You compare things you have tried, keep a list of things to try next, and scan product barcodes in the aisle. It is an independent app from SaturdayNYC Company and is not affiliated with Trader Joe's.
This guide is published by the team behind finds. The feature details below were checked against its App Store listing on September 7, 2026 UTC, when the listed version was 1.0.4.
How do you rank a grocery product?
Start with products you have actually tried. finds asks you to choose between products, and those comparisons build your ranked favorites. The useful question is concrete: which of these would you choose again?
A personal ranking records your taste. It does not make the top item the best choice for every shopper. Friends can disagree and still give each other useful recommendations.
A real personal ranking in finds
In our editor’s September 7, 2026 snapshot, Apple Pie à la Mode Ice Cream is first of 16 sweets, Double Chocolate Wafer Cookies is second, and Maple Leaf Cookies is fourth. All three were marked “love,” and each has two recorded comparisons involving it. These are one person’s preferences, recorded across several shopping trips.
That is the practical difference between remembering that several products were good and knowing which one you prefer. See how to rank three products you have tried for the steps, or how to remember favorites for examples of useful tasting notes.

These native finds screens were captured September 10, 2026 using an example account. The names, notes and ice-cream ranks shown illustrate the flow; they are separate from our editor's personal tasting record above.
1. Choose the exact product and your reaction
Open the product you tried and tap to rank it. Here, the selected item is Wildberry Cheesecake Ice Cream. Choose like, fine or dislike based on your own taste.

2. Compare it with a product you know
The app asks which of two products you liked more. Choose your preference, or use “too close to call” if you cannot separate them. Continue through the comparisons to complete the ranking.

3. Read the completed rank
The result places this example ice cream second of four in Sweets & Desserts. It is a position in that account's list, not a community score or a verdict for every shopper.

4. Share the product
Use “send to friends” and choose a friend or group. The final screen shows a sent confirmation for an example group.

Which finds guide fits what you want to do?
| Your next step | Guide |
|---|---|
| Save an exact product for your next trip | Build a product shortlist |
| Keep track of snacks you have tried | Rate snacks by taste |
| Find a grocery version of your restaurant-ranking habit | Compare the jobs of Beli and finds |
| Look up a package in the aisle | Use barcode scanning |
| Pass a favorite to someone you know | Share a product recommendation |
Can you save products before trying them?
Yes. finds includes a list for products you want to try later. That keeps an interesting product separate from something you have already tried and ranked. Save the product when you notice it, then decide whether to buy it on your next trip.

Can you scan a barcode at Trader Joe's?
The app includes barcode scanning so you can look up and log products in the aisle. You can also search the catalog by product name. The presence of a scanner does not mean every barcode will have a match.
Can friends share recommendations?
Yes. finds lets you send a product recommendation to a friend or a group and receive theirs. That gives a grocery recommendation context: who chose it and how their taste compares with yours.
Does the app show what is in stock at my store?
A product in the catalog is not a guarantee that it is on the shelf at your local store. Availability can vary by store and time. Use the dated shelf updates to research products, and confirm local stock before making a trip for a particular item.
Is finds free, and which phone does it need?
The U.S. App Store listed finds as free with a minimum of iOS 16.4 at this check. Check the listing for current compatibility and pricing. This page does not promise an Android release.
Is finds made by Trader Joe's?
No. SaturdayNYC Company is the developer listed on the App Store. finds is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Trader Joe's. Read about finds for the product's purpose and ownership.
What should I try first?
For a small shopping plan, use the first-trip basket. If you already know the aisle you want, compare sweet snacks or frozen pasta. The fall picks and apple-pie ice cream review give more specific starting points.
